Thinking out of the ring. Present and future of small cyclic compounds

In very recent years, the synthesis, derivatization and application of organic small rings have attracted the attention of both academia and industry worldwide. This has led to a rapid increase in the number of scientific publications and patents dealing with the chemical construction of such energy-rich strained rings. The workshop will focus on small organic rings. This topic will work as an encounter point which will gather scientists with different backgrounds from multiple areas of expertise to discuss and delineate three main aspects: a) concept, b) current trends, and c) future perspectives, and covering diverse fields from medicinal chemistry to synthetic organic chemistry.
