Requirements, Specification, and Exploration for LOFAR-like Sensor Networks

The Liacs Embedded Research Center (LERC) is organizing a symposium on the occasion of the thesis defence of Sylvain Alliot. The theme of the symposium and the speakers have been selected in relation to the thesis subject. This work has been conducted under the STW-MASSIVE project with industrial collaborations in the Nertherlands and Astron (the Netherlands Foundation for Radio Astronomy). A driver for the research was the LOFAR telescope.

This symposium gives the opportunity for the astronomers from the Physics department in Leiden, the industrial partners of the Massive project, the members of the LOFAR project, the embedded system architecting community in the Netherlands to come together. This work will be put in perspective with other approaches in this research area and particularly at Thales-France and with other experts in the design of wide area sensor networks.
