Physics with Industry is a workshop that focuses on devising innovative solutions for scientifically challenging, commercial business cases.
NWO has been organising the Physics with Industry workshop together with the Lorentz Center since 2010. The workshop is intended to encourage cooperation and exchange of knowledge between academia and industry. Scientists and researchers from both academia and industry work closely together for a week to find original solutions to challenging industrial problems.
Cases
For this year’s edition, the following cases are selected:
See the pdf under Workshop Files below for the complete company cases
Participate in one of the cases
Are you a PhD student or postdoc working in the field of physics, physical chemistry, biophysics, astrophysics, material science or other related field in the Netherlands? Do you want to broaden your horizon and get to know the Physics industry and fellow young Physics researchers? Then this is the workshop for you! During this workshop, you will become acquainted with the Physics industry by working on one of the above mentioned cases. Together with the company, you go over the problem and work towards a solution with your team. By collaborating with other researchers from different disciplines, you’ll expand your network and gain valuable industry experience working with a team on a common goal. Teams will consist of 6-8 PhD and/or PostDoc researchers, a senior academic group leader and a company representative.
