The field of nanophotonics with 2D semiconductors in the visible-to-near-infrared spectral range represents an interdisciplinary crossroad where nanophotonics, 2D materials science, and solid-state (quantum) physics converge. This field has formed recently, building on concurrent developments in the broader fields of nanophotonics and 2D materials physics. This workshop aims to bridge the gap between nanophotonics and 2D semiconductors by establishing a focused community dedicated to advancing research in this flourishing area. By bringing together experts from various disciplines, the workshop seeks to facilitate collaborations and identify challenges to unlock the full potential of 2D semiconductors in photonic technologies.
The workshop will be structured around five main themes, each addressing specific research questions and opportunities in the field. Through interactive sessions, discussions, and collaborative activities, participants will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge, generate new ideas, and establish collaborations.
