Description and aim
The emerging field of molecular logic explores new modalities of computation towards far higher speed of input and output, enhanced rates of processing and transmission, truly nanoscale design and lower power requirements.
The problems related to the down-scaling of logic devices led to a focused research effort seeking for novel functionalities and modes of operation of information processing. Most of these rely on a post-Boolean and post-switching approach for implementing molecular logic. Molecular logic is a highly multi-disciplinary field with biologists, chemists, physicists and computer science engineers.
The aim of this workshop is to bring these communities together focusing on the common problems and goal, in particular: parallelism, concatenation, and scalable molecular finite-state machines.
