Karyotyping: from microscope to array

17 - 19 December 2007

Venue: Lorentz Center@Oort

If you are invited or already registered for this workshop, you have received login details by email.

Hybridization of oligonucleotide arrays now allows the analysis of human chromosomes

with unprecedented resolution. This Workshop will bring together laboratory specialists

and clinicians from the clinical genetic centers in The Netherlands and Flanders to

exchange experience, to practice hands on and to discuss appoaches to, and guidelines

for molecular analysis. Thus the Workshop is meant to facilitate and encourage the

complicated switch from microscopic to molecular analysis of mental retardation and

congenital malformation.

The participants will learn how to interpret data from oligonucleotide arrays from different

suppliers with the use of databases for ‘normal’ and disease associated variants. If

successful the participant will be able, after this workshop, to generate a comprehensive

report from a micro-array datafile.
