Hybrid Argumentation and Responsible AI

This workshop proposes Hybrid Argumentation as an approach to responsible interaction between humans and AI systems. A Hybrid Argumentation system is defined as a system in which 1) humans and AI systems interact through language, 2) providing good reasons pro and con their suggested positions, thereby 3) improving each other’s argumentation. Improving the argumentation is intended to enhance the quality of dialogical collaboration between human and machine, and to lead to well-considered opinions that are true or worthy of acceptance, or decisions that are good, wise, optimal or well-considered.
