Designing greener approaches for the preservation of Cultural Heritage artifacts unanimously represents today a crucial challenge. To address this challenge, conservation chemistry needs to rely on a multidisciplinary network of skills coming from different chemical backgrounds.
The aim of this workshop is to offer to the conservation chemistry community the opportunity to establish a dialogue among the main actors working on this field, and redirect and adapt the current common practices towards more sustainable approaches.
We would like to acknowledge prof. Annelou van Gijn and her team of Archaeological Material Culture and Artefact Studies of the University of Leiden for hosting us during the field visit on Wednesday afternoon.
