Description and Aim
Over the last fifteen years, our understanding of quantum gravity and strongly interacting quantum field theories was greatly improved by the exploitation of the AdS/CFT or holographic correspondence. Recent, fascinating developments in this area promise even more important and deep discoveries, by combining holography with the study of quantum entanglement.
Entanglement is a central concept in quantum physics. The reason for the recent successes lies in the remarkably simple geometric description which measures of entanglement, such as entanglement entropy, have in context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. In fact, quantum entanglement played an instrumental role in fundamental physics. From defining c-functions whose monotonicity constrains renormalization group flows to determining bounds on gravitational entropy and offering concrete realizations of space-time emergence, the notion of quantum entanglement offered unprecedented insights into both quantum field theories and gravity.
This workshop will be devoted to the discussion of the recent progress in quantum field theories and gravity, with entanglement and holography being the major unifying themes.
