In this workshop we discuss generalizations of the classical fractional differential operators and their advantages over the integer order ones in modeling of the real-world problems and focus on finding
General principles -from the study of existing fractional models in biological systems, such as lungs and form of bacterial colonies- to relate simple fractional derivative models to microscopic processes.
We strive for the development of new productive collaborations between mathematicians and applied scientists that would lead to joint work on interdisciplinary projects, funding acquisition etc.
The possibilities for such collaborations will be explored during the discussion sessions and round tables, which constitute a major part of our workshop.
