This workshop brings together neuroscientists, computer scientists, and psychologists working in the fields of emotion, development, and learning. The workshop will provide a unique opportunity to formulate a joint view on how (and if) emotion can be conceptualized as a feedback signal, in the context of learning novel behavior, or adapting existing behavior. Ultimate aim is to write and publish a multidisciplinary roadmap, specifying how the emotion as feedback hypothesis can best be approached, taking into account the strengths of the three involved disciplines. A special issue in a high impact journal covering the roadmap and other (invited) articles is planned.
