This workshop aims at finding solutions and future research directions to substantially improve the performance of the electrochemical energy storage devices using 2D/layered materials. This workshop will bring together experts working on the various 2D/layered materials, solving the problems that have obsessed within the research community: how to effectively design new 2D/layered materials (composition, surface chemistry, interlayer space and heterostructures) offering all performance-favorable properties, including high electrical conductivity, high ionic conductivity, high redox activity and stability. The workshop will also allow instrument scientists and theoreticians to introduce their methods to characterize/reveal/predict material properties, which is critical to understanding the energy storage processes in novel materials..
