14 - 17 November 2023

Venue: Lorentz Center@Oort

If you are invited or already registered for this workshop, you have received login details by email.

This workshop aims at finding solutions and future research directions to substantially improve the performance of the electrochemical energy storage devices using 2D/layered materials. This workshop will bring together experts working on the various 2D/layered materials, solving the problems that have obsessed within the research community: how to effectively design new 2D/layered materials (composition, surface chemistry, interlayer space and heterostructures) offering all performance-favorable properties, including high electrical conductivity, high ionic conductivity, high redox activity and stability. The workshop will also allow instrument scientists and theoreticians to introduce their methods to characterize/reveal/predict material properties, which is critical to understanding the energy storage processes in novel materials..

The workshop is comprised of scientific presentations and discussion / break-out sessions. It will cover 2D and layered electrode materials for energy storage applications, with a particular focus on:

  • Identifying promising trends and critical challenges in the field
  • Developing strategies towards combined high energy & power electrode materials
  • Initiating collaborative projects
