The design of novel polymeric materials present unique challenges due to their multiscale, highly-tunable nature. Smooth communication between different fields and expertise in synthesis, characterization, theoretical modeling, and design principles is crucial for scientific breakthroughs in the coming years. The barrier between theoretical/computational and experimental efforts remains a critical bottleneck that should and can be overcome with the use of novel techniques, methods, and strategies to share data. This workshop will address the role of multiscale materials characterization/prediction, the development and efficient sharing of new tools, and the role of automation and AI/data-driven research in the design of new polymer materials.
