Analysis and numerics of nonlinear PDEs: degeneracies & free boundaries

The workshop brings together scientists from the Netherlands and abroad with different expertise and career stages in three main areas of applications: equations and systems of porous-medium type, thin-film equations, and free-boundary problems.

We aim to advance the current state of the art and to form a network of experts in this field. Moreover, we aim to foster new collaborations between mathematicians from different mathematical communities and to connect theoretical analysis with numerics and real-world applications. Interdisciplinarity (with physics, fluid dynamics, formal asymptotic) is crucial for us, especially as a road map for younger scientists.
