A Topological Theory of Tangent Distributions

The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers with different backgrounds and foster new insights across discipline boundaries. Discussions and mini-courses will be structured around the following topics:

* The interaction between sub-Riemannian geodesics, the sub-Laplacian spectrum, and the Reeb flow in contact manifolds;
* Sub-Riemannian curvature and its relationship to tightness/overtwistedness in contact manifolds;
* Low regularity: metric geometry of distributions vs. C^0-contact topology;
* The construction of invariants of distributions up to homotopy through hypoelliptic operators.

The main goal of the workshop is to incentivise discussion and an exchange of ideas. Due to this, we will have minicourses aimed at providing a common background. The rest of the time will be dedicated to working groups and open discussions.
